On My Shelf Tag

Hello everyone!

I thought it would be fun to do the On My Shelf Tag. I've seen this tag all over booktube and thought it would be fun to do. For this tag, you are given a number and you count the number of books on your shelves for that number and tell the story about that book. I've used random.org to get the numbers I'm using for this tag.

69: Off the Page by Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer

I saw this book at a thrift store for a good price and thought I'd buy it. I'd heard good things about it, but I still haven't read it. I later got the first book, Between the Lines, so I could read them in order. I hope I like them when I do eventually read them.

65: Delirium by Lauren Oliver

I think I got this book at a library book swap. I still have not read it, but the premise sounds very interesting. I really want to read this book eventually.

112: The Snowman by R.L. Stine

I first read this book in fifth grade with my class. I eventually decided to buy it because I loved it so much. I love reading R.L. Stine books, and have quite a few of his books. They're so fun and easy to read.

3: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I originally read this book for English, but I ended up really enjoying it. I found this edition at Barnes and Noble for a really good price and bought myself a copy. I eventually want to read some of Jane Austen's other books.

82: Allegiant by Veronica Roth

This is the third book in the Divergent Trilogy. I mainly have it so I have the complete trilogy. It is my least favorite book in the series, mainly because of the ending. I love the first book though.

54: Every Day by David Levithan

I got this book from Barnes and Noble. They had a table where you could buy 1 book and get 2 free, so this is one of the ones I picked up. I'd heard good things about it, and am really interested in the story. I need to read it before the movie comes out.

17: The Elite by Kiera Cass

This is the second book in The Selection series which is one of my favorite series of all time. This book was a rollercoaster and I love it so much. I do have to say, it is my least favorite cover in the whole series.

86: Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder

I think I also got this book from a library book swap. The idea of this book really intrigues me, so I thought I'd get it. It's about a girl who is a poison tester, and that's pretty much all I know. I want to pick it up really soon.

128: The Healing Spell by Kimberley Griffiths Little

I believe I got this book in sixth grade from a family friend. I read it immediately and fell in love with the story. I haven't read it in a while, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to get rid of it. It is one of my favorite childhood books.

48: 172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad

I got this book from a library book sale. I mainly got it because of it's cover, but the story also sounded really good. It's about teenagers who spend 172 hours on the moon. That's pretty much all I know about this book. The cover just grabbed my attention and I knew I had to buy it.

Beauty and the Beast Tag

Hello everyone!
Today I wanted to do the Beauty and the Beast book tag. I love the movie (both animated and live action) and thought this would be a fun tag to do. The creator of this tag is Kirsty from Kirsty and the Cat Read. I saw this tag and thought it would be fun to do.

"Tale as Old as Time" - A popular theme, trope, or setting you will never get bored of reading.

I'd have to say books about World War 2. I love learning about this time period and reading stories about this time period, either fiction or nonfiction. They just fascinate me. I will never get tired of reading books about this time era.

Belle - A book you bought for its beautiful cover that's just as beautiful inside too.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard has a gorgeous cover. In fact, the whole series has beautiful covers. I love the world and the storyline. Red Queen is beautiful both inside and out.

Beast - A book you didn't expect much from but pleasantly surprised you.

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis really surprised me. I thought I was going to hate it because I had to read it for school, but I actually really enjoyed it. The concept is really intriguing. I'm glad I read it.

Gaston - A book everyone loves that you don't.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff, I thought I'd give this book a try when it first came out because I'd heard so many people talk about it. I did not enjoy this story at all. The format really confused me and it was hard to follow the storyline. It just wasn't for me.

Lefou - A loyal sidekick you can't help but love more than their counter part.

Marlee from The Selection by Kiera Cass. She becomes best friends with the main character, America Singer. I sometimes wish Marlee was the main character. She's such a sweet character and would do anything for America. 

Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumier & Cogsworth - A book that helped you through a difficult time or that taught you something valuable.

I'd have to say Night by Elie Wiesel. This book taught me so much. It's a true story where the author recounts his experience with concentration camps during World War 2. I think it's a story everyone should read at least once in their lifetime.

"Something There" - A book or series that you weren't into at first but picked up towards the end.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. For me this book was really slow paced in the beginning, but by the middle I couldn't stop flipping the pages. I ended up really enjoying the story and am so glad I read it.

"Be Our Guest" - A fictional character you'd love to have over for dinner.

Besides Belle, I'd love to have Imogen from the Ascendance Trilogy by Jennifer A. Nielsen. I feel like we'd have a lot in common, and she was a servant and would know how to cook really good food.

Twenty Questions Book Tag

Hello everyone!

I thought today I'd do the Twenty Questions book tag that was created by buydebook on Goodreads.

1. How many books are too many books in a series?
I've really only read series that have had 3-7 books and I say that is a good number for a series to have. You don't need more than that.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?
I hate them, but at the same time if there wasn't a cliffhanger I wouldn't want to pick up the next book.

3. Hardcopy or paperback?
I don't really have a preference. 

4. Favorite book?
It's so hard to pick just one. My go to answer is the Michael Vey series by Richard Paul Evans. Those books are so amazing and I love them to pieces.

5. Least favorite book?
The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey

6. Love triangles, yes or no?
Yes!

7. The most recent book you couldn't finish?
Talon by Julie Kagawa (I just couldn't get into it.)

8. A book you're currently reading?
I am currently reading King's Cage by Victoria Aveyard so that I can read War Storm when it comes out this year.

9. Last book you recommended to someone?
The Michael Vey series. I tell all of my friends to read this series because it is so good.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Nightfall by Shannon Messenger which is the sixth book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series.

12. Favorite author?
I don't think I really have one. There are so many great authors out there.

It depends on how well I think I'll like the book and whether or not I've read it already.

Looking for Alaska by John Green

Definitely bookmarks.

Any of my favorite books.

Occasionally, as long as I'm not focusing on the music.

I like both, but I generally prefer a single POV.

It depends on the book length and if I'm really into the story.
